Hope everyone had a great summer, but now that the Fall Hunting Seasons are now in full swing it’s time to put away the archery 3D and block targets until next spring. So on October 20th we are picking up the targets for the season. The gun shooting area is open for you as members and sponsors to come out to sight in yours rifles for the upcoming gun deer season.
We have just finished both the bear and deer hunts for disabled individuals. Both hunts were successful with a bear being harvested by a disabled youth and we had 16 disabled hunters who harvested a total of 13 deer this year. We had a great group of volunteers that had helped in transporting the disabled hunters to and from the blinds, without their help this project would be impossible to accomplish. I encourage you as members to please consider getting involved with these projects. Until you come to experience it, you’ll not realize the effort and gratification that these disabled hunters experience.
Again, this year as a joint venture with Marathon County Waste Management we will be sponsoring the dumpsters and hide drop off (Lions Camp for the Blind) during the deer gun seasons in the Edgar Waste disposal area. The exact dates that the dumpsters will be there are posted on the sign up there. Again, only disposed deer carcass parts to be put in the dumpsters and no household garbage. PLEASE respect this request so we can continue for future years.
Have a safe and hopefully a successful hunting season and look forward to seeing everyone next March at our Annual Spring Fundraising Banquet.
Again, we ask that each of you pick up any garbage or shell casings that you have so that the property stays clean. As an organization we are very proud of what we've accomplished and need to keep it that way...
