With everything being quite wet this spring we’re running a little behind with getting the CWCC ready for everyone’s use for the summer. There have been a few people that have come out to walk the trails and have really helped clean off the trails with downed brush which we’re very thankful for. We have a few trees that were blown over during the winter months, so they need to be cleaned up. We are seeing a number of standing dead trees that need to be taken down so if anyone would like free campfire wood don’t hesitate to give any of the committee members a call and if its dry enough on the trails let them know and then either we can go with the tractor to help you get the wood out or allow you to use your ATV/UTV with a trailer to get them out.
The next time you get out to the property you will notice as you come down the driveway that we have planted a couple of red maple trees in honor and memory of those members that have passed away that had dedicated their free time in helping to make our organization to what it has become today. There are also two apple trees that were planted by the pistol area in memory of a fellow member by a group of his special friends that wanted to do something special to honor his memory.
We are now in the process of replacing the huts in the archery block target range to help protect the targets, so when this project is finished, we will be setting out both the block targets along with the 3-D targets for our membership to enjoy.
